Portraits
Over the years I have done a few portrait commission. As a figurative painter it seems like a natural subject.
All of those I have done so far have been for individuals who were already patrons, that is that they own at least
two pieces of mine. This is important because I do portraits with the same conceptual commitment that I give to
all my work. That means that in each work I am exploring an idea whose development will determine the end visual
results. In portraits I use the subject whose portrait is being commissioned as a part of a larger idea, an idea that
relates to my visual concerns at the time inner mixed with the situation that stimulates someone to want a painting
of someone else or themselves.  The resulting painting becomes for the patron both portrait and artifact.
